Caerphilly County Borough Council purchased the former Woolworths building in 2010 to create an office development at the northern gateway to Bargoed.
The building enjoys a key location within the town centre and also benefits from the new bus station development and the new pedestrian link, which are in close proximity to the site.
The premises, which boasts the largest retail floor space in the town, was purchased by the Council using Heads of the Valleys funding from the Welsh Government.
The Original Factory Shop occupies the floor space at High Street level and carried out an extensive refit in Spring 2011.
There are proposals to create 875 sq. m. of lettable space on 3 levels, with the potential to extend to 1,000 sq. metres subject to market demand.
With proposed additional windows, this new lower level office space benfits from sunlight, and sufficient natural ventilation across its 9 metre depth.
This level can potential provide 175 sq. metres of lettable office space.
A new entrance could be created off St Gwladys Way and this could lead to a shared lobby with 525 sq. metres of lettable space.
This area is the new roof top office space, signifying a fresh development in the existing building. 175 square metres of lettable office space plus a generous roof garden.
There is potential to extend the lettable space to 300 sq. metres depending on market demand.
