The developer of the new Morrisons store Simons, will shortly be occupying large areas of land in order to progress the retail development. This will involve fencing off part of the informal southern car park and the area know as the 'Rugby Club' car park, plus all of the disabled spaces behind the former library site. It is anticipated that this will take place from the 16th April 2012 and these areas will no longer be available for use as car parks.
The proposals for the Development plateau, in the centre of Bargoed, includes provision for accessible new parking facilities for the town, alongside improved pedestrian and cycle links. The Park & Ride Scheme also accommodates additional commuter parking and 90 car parking spaces are now available.
