An exhibition outlining a range of exciting proposals for Bargoed Town centre was on display in March 2009 and local people were encouraged to go along and have their say.
The proposals include a one-way system along the High Street, the creation of a new bus station, a new public square and the development of pedestrian links between the upper and lower town centre. The exhibition showed in some detail the public realm improvements planned for the existing shopping centre.
CCBC cabinet member for regeneration, Cllr Ron Davies said, "Bargoed is a key priority for us and we want to give local residents the opportunity to share their views and help influence the future of the town. The plans contain a number of ambitious proposals that will help regenerate the town centre and we are keen to get the community involved."
The plans should be read as a journey from the South at Hanbury Square, to the north at the junction from High Street to Bristol Terrace and Station Road.
It should be noted that there is no guarantee that all of the projects will be introduced. This will depend on the amount of funding that the Council is able to attract. See the latest announcements - Bargoed Town receives major boost.
