Situated in the impressive fourteenth century great hall, visitors will be treated to performances from local choirs, dance acts and theatre groups.

Aber Valley Male Voice Choir

Saturday 29 July - 1.15pm to 1.45pm and 2.45pm to 3.15pm

Founded in 1959, the choir has performed on some 1300 occasions ranging from Cathedrals to Community Centres, and from Castles to  School Halls, primarily raising funds for worthwhile charities.

They proudly represented Wales at the Lorient, Brittany, Interceltic Festival during the last two years. The choir and its musical team, Geraint Evans BEM, Aurelia Jones and Harriet Jenkins, will be performing twice. Sharing the stage during each performance will be the newly formed Treble C.

The music ranges from Grand Opera to Welsh hymns to Songs from the Shows to Pop Music. The programme for each performance will be entirely different!

Caerphilly Community Chorus

Saturday 29 July - 10.15am to 10.55am

Caerphilly Community Chorus is an award-winning open access, muilt-generation choir for people 15+. They will be singing an eclectic mix of popular, folk and traditional welsh songs, with our Musical Director Rosie Howarth conducting.

They rehearse at the Vanguard Centre, United Reformed Church in Caerphilly on Friday evenings and give several performances each year. Come and give us a try!

Caerphilly Ladies Choir

Saturday 29 July - 11am to 1.55am

Formed in 1966 with about 45 members, giving at least 15 concerts every year, mostly for charities. Its musical director is Jean Davies,  Accompanist IS Beverley Baker and the deputy M.D. is Ella Baker. 

The choir has a vast Repertoire and has travelled to countries throughout Europe and the U.K. . This year they toured Ireland giving a concert raising 3,000 Euros in aid of Multiple Sclerosis. The choir always enjoy performing at the Big Cheese and this year is no exception. Caerphilly Male Voice Choir

Saturday 29 July - 12pm to 1pm

Formed in 1906, the choir love to sing and have a diverse repertoire ranging from Welsh classics such as Myfanwy, songs from musicals and contemporary pieces.

We meet at the Wesleyan Church Bedwas every Monday and Thursday 7pm - 9pm. The Choir is available to support Weddings and Corporate functions as well as local charitable gatherings

The Melody Makers

Saturday 29 July - 2pm to 2.30pm

They will be singing a mix of songs from the musicals with a few very upbeat popular songs and Welsh song Ar Lan y Mor featuring a solo by Lisa Davies along with the choir.

The Melody Makers are a singing group who rehearse at Lewis Girls School, Ystrad Mynach every Monday during term time from 7-9pm. They sing songs from the shows and popular songs and have a young, enthusiastic and very talented Music Team headed by Charlotte Rennie, Musical Director, Karyn Phelps, Accompanist and Sara Hodges, Assistant Accompanist.

They plan to hold an Open Evening, to attract new members at the school on Monday 4th September to celebrate their new rehearsal venue and to celebrate our 7th birthday.

White Rose Singers

Saturday 29 July - 3.30pm to 4.00pm

We are a friendly community choir who meet every Friday at New Tredegar to enjoy music and have fun in good company. This year the White Rose Singers are combining with 2 other choirs Merthyr Aloud - world music choir and Alive and Kicking to create a unique uplifting sound.

Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir

Sunday 30 July - 10.00am – 10.45am

Established in 194y they look forward to celebrating 70 years of singing. Varying in age from 18 to ladies in their 80s, they have a varied repertoire from Classical to very contemporary music. They have travelled extensively including tours of Bratislava and Vienna and also had the privilege of singing at the Palace of Westminster and before the women’s rugby international in Cardiff. The main focus is on community concerts and they love to sing at old people homes and community based venues. 

Treble C

Sunday 30 July - 12.45pm to 1.15pm

Treble C are a teenage girl trio singing a wide range of genres from classical to musical theatre and pop.

Drama Showcase

Sunday 30 July - 2.45pm – 4.30pm

A great chance to see a range of quality performances from the ever excellent Caerphilly Youth Theatre plus other guest groups. 

Ragsy

Crosskeys Silver Band

Cross Keys Silver Band is a competing brass band based in South Wales which creates an amazing sound within the acoustics of the Great hall.
