Welcome

Thank you for visiting the online home of Blackwood Miners Institute.

NEW BROCHURE OUT NOW!

You may have heard that in 2011/2012 Caerphilly County Borough Council's Cabinet approved a three year programme of repairs to revamp Blackwood Miners’ Institute. Already, a massive amount of work has been done including renovating the front of house areas and new seating in the auditorium. Now we’re into phase two and the auditorium will be closed for twenty weeks from January, as we are extending the back of the building to provide better changing facilities for the top artists we strive to bring you.

We couldn’t starve you of the top quality entertainment we are proud to present to our customers, so we have programmed events into Bedwas Workmen’s Hall as a temporary measure until we reopen. The Workmen's Hall has also had a recent facelift and all the original features are on show!

The ‘Stute isn’t completely closed. Tickets for all of the shows can still be booked from the box office, and all workshops and classes will still run at The 'Stute as normal.   And we still have fabulous regular evenings of entertainment in the Navigation bar.  From comedy to our new acoustic sessions, we have all the best names lined up for you for our Spring 2013 Season.

BMI is located in the South East Valleys of Wales and our presence on Blackwood’s busy high street places us at the heart of the community, presenting a variety of arts & entertainment events including well-known household names from the world of music and light entertainment. We also give you the opportunity to experience the best quality theatre, dance and opera companies on your doorstep as well as supporting performances staged by local organisations and much more!

Take a look through our What’s On pages now and call the Box Office on 01495 227206 to book your tickets or click here to book online.
