Community Partnerships

From April 2012, the Welsh Government’s Communities First programme has become a Community Focused Programme to support the Welsh Government’s Anti-Poverty agenda. The Welsh Government are developing new structures for delivering the Communities First programme with a greater focus on evidencing the impact that locally funded activities have toward three strategic outcomes.

1. Prosperous communities
2. Learning communities
3. Healthier communities

From January 2013 there will be a new structure in place for the delivery of the Communities First programme in the Caerphilly borough. All changes will be published on this website as they unfold.

Currently in Caerphilly County Borough we have 16 Communities First Partnerships through the original Communities First programme and two new areas added as a result of the review in 2007, covering about a third of the county borough. The Community Partnerships form an important part of the community planning process, and community partnerships have also been supported to develop in non-Communities First areas.
