This key document sets out the vision for a better county borough, agreed priorities for action and a set of 28 objectives for achieving the vision.
It’s a strategy to be put into action, and in to do this the Council has worked closely with public, private and voluntary organisations and local communities in delivering on the strategy. The Community Strategy for Caerphilly county borough was launched in November 2004 following extensive consultation over a five-year period and lasts until 2020.
In 2008-09 a review was undertaken of the first four years of the Community Strategy. The review highlighted achievements and priorities for the next four years and lessons learnt from the review process. This website will keep you informed on how the priorities identified are being delivered.
The four main themes of the Strategy are:
All are made up of multi-agency partnerships whose purpose is to drive the work of the Community Strategy forward.
The Community Strategy also has the cross cutting themes of Equalities and Sustainable Development and incorporates the work of Children and Young People, 50+ and Community Safety partnerships within the four themes. All themes of the Community Strategy work together in delivering on the Community Strategy objectives.
