Local Service Boards are where the leaders of local public and third sector organisations come together to take collective action to ensure public services are effective and citizen focused. Caerphilly Local Service Board have identifed the following priority work areas:
The Caerphilly county borough area has some of the poorest and most deprived communities in Wales, with resultant poverty, exacerbated by the downturn in the economy and recessionary pressures highlighting why this is a LSB priority.
Single Integrated Plan
Caerphilly Local Service Board is directing work on formulating a single plan for community planning, integrating the different plans coming under the Caerphilly borough Community Strategy into a single delivery plan by April 2013. This will result in a clearer, and more efficient community planning framework in the borough, to improve public services and bring about lasting quality of life improvements for local citizens.
Tackling Alcohol Misuse
Alcohol misuse is a major health, economic and social challenge and a problem which is damaging families and communities across the borough. Caerphilly Local Service Board is committed to leading the way in trying hard to address this issue.
