Family fun at our country parks

 

Please be advised that on the 23rd September, a Food Festival will be taking place in the country park and we will be charging £3 /day and not the usual £1 every two hours from 11 am until 6pm.

Ar y 23ain Medi, bydd Gwyl Fwyd yn cael ei chynnal yn y parc gweldig a byddwn yn codi tal o £3 y dydd ac nid y gyfradd arferol o £1 pob 2 awr o 11yb tan 6pm.

SEPTEMBER

Valleys Feastival - Saturday 23rd

A Feastival of food and the arts set in the beautiful surroundings of Parc
Cwm Darran. Valleys Feastival brings you Circus skills, theatre performances
in English and Welsh, more food than you could comfortably eat in a month
of Sundays, plus some creative crafts. 
Time: 12pm - 6pm  
Charge: £3 for parking

OCTOBER

 

Magical Monsters and Terrible Tales - Monday 30th

Get in the spirit of Halloween by joining us in the woods for a monstrous
story, marshmallows around the camp fire and then make your own
wooden troll face to take home. 
Time: 1pm - 4pm  
Charge: £3 per child 
Venue: Parc Penallta, Education Centre.
Age: Suitable for age 5 and above

Halloween Wildlife Fun - Tuesday 31st

Why not visit Parc Cwm Darran and hunt for the creatures that roam
the park in the night, trap moths and see if you can find any bats.
Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Don’t forget your torch!
Time: 5pm - 7.45pm  
Charge: £3 per person

Campfire Fun - Wednesday 1st

Learn how to make a campfire, toast marshmallows
and enjoy a mug of drinking chocolate.

Christmas Wreath Making - Saturday 2nd

Get wrapped up in wreath making for Christmas at Parc Cwm Darran.

Search for Santa - Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th

You’ll need new batteries for your torch for this exciting night-time
wander through woods as we look for clues in our search for Santa.
Time: 6pm - 7.30pm  
Charge: £7 - this includes hot drink and mince pies and an extra
Christmas present for the children

Wooden Snowmen Making - Saturday 9th

Who said you need snow to build a snowman? Why not have a
go at making a wooden snowman with the Rangers at Parc Cwm
Darran? You can also order a wooden snowman from the Parc
and collect it, if you don’t fancy making one. You can order one

Wooden Reindeer Making - Saturday 16th

Come along and make your own 3ft tall Rudolph, Prancer or Dancer.
You can also order a wooden reindeer from the Parc and collect it,
if you don’t fancy making one (subject to availability). You can order one

JANUARY

 

Big Garden BIrd Watch - Saturday 27th

This year the event has migrated to the fabulous bird haven of
Bedwas Riverside Park so come along and join in the annual feathery
feast of ornithological offerings. The event is run in partnership
with local volunteer groups. Enjoy yourself making bird feeders,
exploring the park with our bird watch leaders and come and
see birds close up with our bird ringing sessions.
Event is weather dependant.
Time: 10am - 2pm  
Charge: £1.50 for bird feeders
