Trees have fallen along the cycle paths from Deri to Bargoed and near to Markham due to the heavy snow fall. Please take due care whilst cycling along these cycle paths, whilst the Rangers remove the trees from the paths.

You can take a walk by yourself or perhaps take your dog, go for a canter on a horse or ride your bike around our parks and admire the fantastic scenery of the county borough.

Take your pick from a range of activities in the landscapes we care for - it's easy to make the most of being outdoors with us.

Be prepared

Each activity has unique characteristics – from the type of participants to the habitats in which they take place.

Whatever activity you are undertaking, you should always consider:

  • The risk to yourself and others
  • The benefits to community, health and well-being
  • The effect on the environment
  • Follow the country code and the Highway Code

By using the natural environment responsibly, we improve our own quality of life and also help protect our natural heritage for future generations
