Graig Goch Woodland, Cwmfelinfach

What’s there?

Graig Goch is an ancient oak and beech woodland set in the Sirhowy Valley Country Park. The best time to visit is in the springtime when the woodland floor is carpeted with Bluebells. Springtime also brings the woods alive with birdsong; redstarts, flycatchers and warblers can all be heard as they look for a mate.

Through the trees there are great views across the Sirhowy Valley and the climb up to the woods is clearly worth the effort.

How to get there:

Graig Goch is situated close to Ynys Hywel Farm in Sirhowy Valley Country Park.

By car: Follow the brown tourist signs to Ynys Hywel off the A4048 in Cwmfelinfach. After crossing the narrow bridge to Ynys Hywel take the left hand fork to the farm
(about 1mile from fork).

By Bus: To Cwmfelinfach then walk for approximately 1 mile to Ynys Hywel farm.
