A 9 mile walk starting from the visitor centre, taking in historic features, stunning woodlands and fantastic views. There are some steep climbs and descents with this walk, but the views are well worth the effort.

1807 Walk

A short stroll to enjoy the sights and sounds of the stream and lake. Suitable for most people, but there are some uneven surfaces, which can be slippery when wet. Two kissing gates make it difficult for pushchairs.

Nant Carn Walk

A gentle walk taking in woodlands, ponds and streams and valley views. Suitable for most people, but there are some uneven surfaces, which can be slippery when wet. One kissing gate and a set of steps.

Bluebell Walk

You are about to enter the forest. Ahead of you is a steep path that will take you up to the top of the Iron Age hillfort of Twmbarlwm. From the top there are stunning views, over Cardiff Bay to the south and towards the Brecon Beacons to the north.

This exhilarating circular walk takes in the contrasts of forest tracks and open common land, leading up to the highest point in the county, Twmbarlwm Iron Age Hill Fort.

The Raven Walk is a twelve-mile circular walk around the Sirhowy and Ebbw Valleys. Steep climbs through beech woodlands to hilltop commons reward the walker with fantastic views across the Severn Estuary and to the Brecon Beacons.
