Christmas Street Lighting 2018-19

The Community Council is pleased to once again confirm Festive Street Lighting for 2018-19. This will include the dressing of the Tree in Deri and installation of x10 figurines in Fochriw, Pentwyn Groesfaen. Lights will be illuminated daily from 1st December 2018 and until 3rd January 2019, between the hours of 4pm and midnight.

Summer Scheme August 2018

The Community Council is pleased to announce that working in partnership with Sport Caerphilly / Caerphilly Adventures, it is able to once again organise a tailored scheme for 8-12 Years Olds this Summer.

Come and join us for some adrenaline fueled adventure at Parc Cwm Darran. Two week of fun activities and it’s absolutely free, although booking is essential. All you need is a packed lunch and change of clothes.

Gorge Walk

Spend the day scrambling up a gorge climbing waterfalls and jumping into the river

Reach the summit of Pen y Fan, The Sugarloaf or the Skirrid.

Beach Day

Surf, Swim and Rock Pooling are the order of the day

Grant Aid 2018-19

Darran Valley Community Council Section 137 Grant Aid for 2018-19.

Please note this is Council's traditional Grant Aid Scheme, not the Wind Turbine Community Benefit Fund. More detail on this will follow shortly. 

Local Organisations from Deri, Fochriw and Pentwyn wishing to apply for consideration for Grant Aid Support during 2018-19, please return a completed Application Form with latest Balance Sheet*, to the Clerk Mr Geraint Williams, by Friday 31st August 2018

Applications will be considered at the meeting of Council scheduled for Thursday 6th September 2018.
