BBC Proms in the Park 2011

Welcome to the Proms

Saturday 8 September sees the world's largest classical music festival come to a spectacular conclusion. As the world-famous Last Night of the Proms celebrations spill out from London's Royal Albert Hall, and people come together at venues across the UK to be part of the magic of the 'Last Night'.

Events are now confirmed in London, Caerphilly, Belfast and Glasgow. Each show is centred around a live concert with its own high profile artists, Orchestras and Presenters.  The BBC National Orchestra for Wales will bring an evening of spell binding magic to the Owain Glyndwr Fields.

Caerphilly County Borough Council are excited to once again be collaborating with BBC Cymru Wales and are pulling out all the stops to make this year’s BBC Proms in the Park a truly magical evening. Organisers and local residents alike are thrilled to be part of the Proms season and look forward to this spectacular night where Caerphilly will be showcased across the UK.

Families and music lovers are invited to bring along a picnic and flags and join in with the traditional proms in the park festivities, whilst experiencing the majestic sights of Caerphilly Castle, this backdrop to the stunning event.

Bringing the summer festivities to a close, the last night of the Proms invites you to join in with the theme of ‘Magic’ where audiences are given the opportunity to sing-along to a variety of popular songs including Sosban Fach, We’ll keep a Welcome and Cwm Rhondda.
