Directions

Exit Junction 32 of M4, take the A470 then A468 and follow the signs for Caerphilly.

Please refer to the map, select a marker, choose 'Get Directions: To here' and enter your starting location.

Extra Train Services

On Saturday 7 September 2013, the train service on the line serving Caerphilly will be operated by rail replacement buses.

They will call at train stations along the line however please allow some extra time to arrive at Caerphilly. Arriva Trains Wales offer some discounted travel for groups of three people or more. See www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk for more details.

After the event there will be extra rail replacement buses available as follows: -

  • 2308 & 2328 to Cardiff Central calling at Lisvane & Thornhill, Llanishen, Heath High Level and Cardiff Queen Street
  • 2315 & 2359 to Rhymney via Llanbradach, Ystrad Mynach, Hengoed, Pengam, Gilfach Fargoed, Bargoed, Brithdir, Tir-phil & Pontlottyn.

Parking

In order to avoid congestion at this year's BBC Proms in the Park event, there is park and ride scheme in operation. Buses will drop off and pick up next to the event site. This year the park & ride will operate from St. Cenydd School (not St. Ilan's as in previous years) .

Follow the temporary signs from the A470, A469 and A468.

Fee £2 per car.

There are suitable parking areas for Blue Badge holders. All buses used on the Park & Ride are low floor and are able to carry wheelchair users.

The Park & Ride is open from 3pm with buses running at least every 10 minutes until the start of the event. To avoid missing the start of the performance you should aim be at the Park and Ride by 7pm at the latest however buses will continue operating until 7.45pm.

After the event buses will run from 10:30pm to 11:45 pm from the event site. The Car Park will be closed at Midnight.
