Abertridwr Community Council is located near to Caerphilly town in the south of Caerphilly County Borough.

The Council represents and serves two communities in South East Wales: Abertidwr and Sengenhydd.

There are 11 Community Councillors, 6 representing Abertridwr Ward and 5 for Senghenydd Ward.

Aber Valley Community Council meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month (excluding August) at Senghenydd Community Centre and Abertridwr Community Centre alternately, commencing 7pm. 

Members of the public are invited to attend but unless pre-arranged are not permitted to take part in the meeting.

Defibrillators are located at Aber Valley YMCA, Senghenydd Rugby Club and Cwmaber Infants School.

Applications for financial assistance

Aber Valley Community Council welcomes applications for financial assistance from individual organisations on the basis that the grant is of direct benefit to the community.

Aber Valley Community Council has a practice of considering applications for financial assistance twice a year; at the January and July community council meetings. Applications will not be considered unless a copy of the last audited accounts/balance sheet is included.

A community council presentation evening is held in September each year where the cheques are presented to all the successful applicants of the July meeting.
